What stays on your phone
Your profile (age, height, weight, sex, goal), your food log and your settings are stored on your device. Forkbud has no accounts.
What leaves your phone
When you scan a meal, the photo (or the text you typed) is sent to our server and on to OpenAI to be analysed, and the result is sent back. Forkbud does not keep the photo or the text. OpenAI processes it under its own API terms.
Barcode lookups
When you scan a barcode, the barcode number is sent to Open Food Facts to find the product. Their servers see your network address as for any website. Nothing else about you is sent.
Usage limits
To enforce daily scan limits and prevent abuse, our server keeps counters tied to a random install ID and your network address. They contain no name, email or food data.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active; it receives a random app user ID and your purchase status, not your food log or profile.
Deleting your data
Delete all data in Me removes your profile and log from the device. Uninstalling the app does the same.

Forkbud is not intended for anyone under 18.
